Accessibility at GVSU

Keep Content Concise

It is essential that the Web be accessible in order to provide equal access and equal opportunity to people with diverse abilities. Accessibility means making your online content usable by people of all abilities. Usability means making it easy for visitors to your site to accomplish their goals.

Grand Valley State University has adopted the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 (WCAG) as the standard for university content published online.

A BETTER EXPERIENCE

Accessibility means making your site usable to anyone regardless of their abilities. Usability is making that experience an easy and enjoyable one.

There are four central ideas to making your GVSU site more accessible to all users.

THE RIGHT THING TO DO

Access to quality information should be a right for every individual. We're working to provide access to that information by creating a more accessible web experience through awareness and technical support.

THE LAW

The Americans with Disabilities Act, by law, states that individuals with a disability be provided equal access to their programs, services, or activities information. We couldn't agree more, and that's why we've developed a Web Accessibility Policy. This policy supports our efforts to provide unburdened access to information for all individuals.
